Answers to the most common questions about buying, selling and verification on Race and Rally Market.
What is Race and Rally Market?
Race and Rally Market is a European online marketplace for buying and selling used race and rally parts, safety gear and complete competition cars. It is built for motorsport people who want a marketplace that is easy to use and that they can trust.
Is it free to place a listing?
Yes. Creating an account and placing listings is free. Only the optional Verified seller check involves a small one-off bank payment, which we use to confirm that your name matches your account.
Does Race and Rally Market handle payments or shipping?
No. Buyer and seller agree on payment, collection and shipping directly with each other. Race and Rally Market is not a party to the sale. Read Buying safely before you pay.
What does the Verified seller badge mean?
A verified seller has passed extra checks: a private proof-of-ownership photo of their part (the part next to their username and the date) and a small bank payment that confirms their name. Business sellers also provide their company registration number. The badge shows that we checked who the seller is and that they had the part. It is not a guarantee of the condition of the part.
How do I become a verified seller?
Place a listing and upload a proof-of-ownership photo in the private field of the listing form. Our team reviews it together with the name check. When everything matches, the badge appears on your profile and on all your listings.
Who can see my proof-of-ownership photo?
Only the Race and Rally Market team. It is never shown to buyers or other users and is used only for verification.
How long does it take before my listing is live?
Every new or edited listing is reviewed by our team before it is published. We aim to review listings and answer messages within 48 hours.
What can I sell?
Used and new parts for race and rally cars, complete competition cars, and transport and workshop equipment. There are eleven categories: Complete Cars, Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres, Bodywork & Chassis, Cockpit & Interior, Driver Gear, Electronics, and Transport & Workshop, each with its own subcategories.
Can I post a wanted ad or offer a car for rent?
Yes. When you place a listing, choose the listing type: For sale, Wanted or For rent. Wanted ads appear in the same categories, so sellers can find what you are looking for.
Do you check homologation of safety gear?
No. Sellers must describe homologation and expiry dates truthfully, but we do not test or certify safety equipment. Always check the FIA or national homologation label and expiry date yourself before buying seats, harnesses, helmets, FHR devices or race suits.
In which countries can I buy and sell?
Across Europe. Sellers choose the country where the part is located, so you can filter listings by country.
Can I sell as a business?
Yes. Business sellers are welcome and add their company registration number during verification.
What should I do if I suspect fraud?
Stop contact and do not pay. Report the listing to us and, if you have lost money, file a report with the police. Read our Fraud & reporting policy for what we do next.
Who is behind Race and Rally Market?
Race and Rally Market was started by Joery van Schoot, who has competed in the Peugeot 206 Cup rally series in the Netherlands. Read the full story on our About page.
